Road Safety Operation |
||
|
Good Morning Elmdon Residents,
I wanted to update you regarding a joint operation we conducted yesterday. We worked alongside Stechford & Yardley North and Sheldon NHTs as well as WMP's Road Harm Prevention Team, Traffic Officers, and the DVSA. We were working to tackle road traffic offences such as off road bikes, no insurance, and driving whilst on a mobile phone. A number of vehicles were seized for various offences including no insurance and no tax. We will not tolerate drivers without the appropriate insurance, tax, and other documents and will process these offences accordingly.
I also wanted to share some good news from last set: One of our team, PC James, came back in from rest days to find a lovely gesture from a very grateful young man who we mentioned in our last message when we got him back on the road with a new scooter. We have included a picture of the fantastic handmade card we received, and it is now proudly displayed on our office wall. The team have been targeting high risk domestic violence offenders in the Solihull area with two days this past week seeing us put out a dedicated crew to locate and arrest the most wanted offenders in the area. Seeing two suspects be put behind a cell door safeguarding some of our most vulnerable members of the community. The team were invited to give a talk on road safety in local schools in the area with great success. Making road safety information engaging and interesting while still enforcing its importance is vital to keep young people safe in the area. Whilst out on patrol in local parkland the team recovered a large combat knife which was intentionally concealed from view. The weapon has been seized and disposed to prevent it being used to cause harm. The team have recovered a large quantity of cannabis and a sword from an address in Elmdon this week when builders located a small cannabis factory tucked away. Enquires are still ongoing. We also completed an ANPR operation using the cameras on our police vehicle in and around DAMSON LANE and OLD LODE LANE.
I will update you at the end of this set (Sunday) with crime updates and any further good news from this week,
